Prezi and Video

Case Study: Prezi

Objectives- The purpose of this project was to create a fun and interactive Prezi presentation for students interested in joining the instructional design undergraduate program at Western Illinois University.

Contribution- I created the Prezi as well as took some pictures and gathered the content from students in the department.

Result- This project had a lot of revisions which made it which made it fun. It evolved from a simple Powerpoint into a sleek and solid Prezi. The first revisions were lackluster compared to the final product. It was less confusing for high school students and college freshman looking for a major.

Fulton County Spoon River Drive Promo & Splash Video

Case Study: Spoon River Drive

Objectives- This project was an in class/work experience with a client to create a two videos for a client in to promote the Fulton County Spoon River Drive in Illinois.

What I contributed- I was the project leader, planner, videographer, and editor for the project.

Results- The video and its raw footage are currently used for by the good folks at Fulton County. The project was successful, and the client Kevin appreciated the hard work and commitment to the project.

Meloy Video

Case Study: Linda Meloy Video

Objectives- This video was created for a client to promote her expertise in adult learning.

What I contributed- I put together the shooting schedule for two days during her weekend course. I met with the client who had not done a video before and needed me to create an instructional video of her teaching and interacting with her students. The video would then be produced for the web so future students and clients can hire her.

Results- This project was a learning experience. While I did accomplish the project, it was not up to the clients standards. The major problem with the project was not being able to translate what the client wanted vs what standard video practices were. There was also several times when the client had to rearrange her schedule for unforeseen circumstances that made it difficult to contact regarding the finished video.

I had problems finishing the video due to software issues. When I graduated, I had limited access to the Adobe Premier. I had a subscription to the program which worked for awhile, however my computer was not as powerful as the one I used at school. Whenever I attempted to upload the video files to Premier, it would crash. I also had been swamped with my portfolio presentation, graduation, moving, and a death in the family that got in the way of the project.

Hello!

Welcome to my blog on my instructional design projects. The purpose of this blog is to elaborate on projects featured on my website. After each case study, I will provide a link to the project on my site.
