Case Study: Linda Meloy Video
Objectives- This video was created for a client to promote
her expertise in adult learning.
What I contributed- I put together the shooting schedule for
two days during her weekend course. I met with the client who had not done a
video before and needed me to create an instructional video of her teaching and
interacting with her students. The video would then be produced for the web so
future students and clients can hire her.
Results- This project was a learning experience. While I did
accomplish the project, it was not up to the clients standards. The major
problem with the project was not being able to translate what the client wanted
vs what standard video practices were. There was also several times when the
client had to rearrange her schedule for unforeseen circumstances that made it
difficult to contact regarding the finished video.
I had problems finishing the video due to software issues.
When I graduated, I had limited access to the Adobe Premier. I had a subscription
to the program which worked for awhile, however my computer was not as powerful as the one
I used at school. Whenever I attempted to upload the video files to Premier, it
would crash. I also had been swamped with my portfolio presentation,
graduation, moving, and a death in the family that got in the way of the
project.
